April Lockhart is a born on July 4 April, 1995. As a seventh-grade student she began taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. This ignited her passion to write songs. In the seventh grade April started taking piano and guitar lessons. The lessons sparked her passion to write songs. At the age of 14 April spent a lot of her time singing and writing songs. In the following months, April started to take trips across NY and LA with her Dad in order for them both write songs. April added other themes to the track "Take My Hand" for some of the friends she had who struggled with issues such as peer pressurization disabilities, and even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart has her own fan base and works as a lifestyle blogger at the renowned Ilia Clean Beauty brand. She has a disability that is a component of her personality, but it's not the entire image. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook the fact that she has a disability. But it also doesn't emphasize the issue. The profile is a statement. We all have multiple aspects that our identities are complex and that we are greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart has stated on video that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her disability. She does not want to be a disability advocate who only speaks about it. There are a lot of aspects of Lockhart. This doesn't influence my day-to-day routine. I conduct my business as usual and have developed my own methods to adjust. The same is true for my personality, and it's something that needs to be addressed. Lockhart encourages us to keep moving forward with self-acceptance. However, she acknowledges going through phases with her body at times not being confident in wearing specific types of clothes that showed off her arms. Nowadays, she dresses whatever she wants and posts images of her outfits to social media, she is proud of herself. The key to self-love for her is that it's not an end destination. That's true of everyone regardless of their insecurity. It is essential to surround yourself with people who can really see you.
